Here's what happens. Roughly.
- T+00:00
It waits.
A camera in the corner watches the room. When a face holds still, a thirty-second countdown starts.
- T+00:30
It decides.
It takes the photo and draws one fate from 1,042. You don't get a say.
- T+01:05
It reveals.
About thirty seconds later you're on the big screen. BEHOLD: a Viking riding a very small, very determined pony.
- T+∞
It remembers.
Scan the code on the screen. Every roast of the night is there, sorted by who's in it, ready to save.

Even he got roasted.
This portrait of Abraham Lincoln is in the public domain, which makes him the only guest we're allowed to show you. He didn't get a say either.
A beekeeper calmly wearing a full beard made of bees

1,042 fates. One of them is yours.
Every photo draws one at random: an era, a job, one detail that went too far. Draw one to see what the Cam has in mind.
We roast the costume, never the face. No fate is about how anyone looks.

The rest of the archive is sealed.
Every roast lives in the gallery for its night, behind that night's code. You had to be there.

Save them forever.
- Find yourself
- The gallery sorts the night by who's in each roast. Tap your face and see only yours.
- Keep one
- Save any roast straight to your phone's photos.
- Keep the whole night
- Download every roast from the night in one go.
- Watch it land
- The big screen shows each roast the moment it's ready, then slideshows the night.
The rules of the room.
- There's always a sign. The Cam photographs whoever is in frame, so every FuglyCam night puts one up where people can see it.
- We roast the costume, never the face. Fates are outfits, eras and situations. Never bodies, age, weight, skin or anything else about how you look.
- Ask and you're out. Tell the host. The Cam stops photographing you, and every roast of you disappears from the screen and the gallery.
- The gallery stays in the room. Each night's roasts sit behind that night's code, for the people who were there.
Want it at your thing?
FuglyCam comes by invitation for now. It needs a camera (a laptop or a phone will do), a screen the room can see, and Wi-Fi. It does the rest.
